Calibre nmDRC Recon implements "early" design rule checking and is designed for use on blocks, macros and the full design while they are in an incomplete intermediate state during the design flow.

Only specific classes of errors that can be detected at the current design state are verified and corrected. This allows design teams to identify and fix DRC issues incrementally throughout the design process, rather than discovering them all at tapeout — significantly reducing schedule risk.
